Welcome to TREBLE AHEAD

Updated: May 9

Aloha from the Big Island. Let me introduce myself. My name is Frederick "Scotty" Pierce. Originally, I was born in Griffith Park near Hollywood, California, (not at the Zoo). Although I was raised mostly in Los Angeles, my parents later relocated our family to Silicon Valley (HATED IT!) I'm a Tenor and have been a Wanted man ever since. I also have the dubious honor of being censored and removed from many of our society's best, world-reknowned social media platforms. You won't find me on the usual sites, excepting Twitter X. That leaves me as an analog man dreaming his life away amongst his digital nightmares. Although I spent most of my career as a Musician, now I'm blogging away madly here on wix instead of on those "other platforms." Before COVID, (BC) I offered private lessons in Piano, Music Theory and Creative Writing. My other crimes include acting, singing, composing jokes and poetry, which once littered my IG profile. I was also a long time columnist for Quora Digest. Am an eclectic lunatick and was influenced by every Tom, Dicky and Harry, and in every genre.

(Chrissake, what a windbag! What's his blog all about? and why is he blogging?)

In the newspeak of online slang, I'd put me somewhere between the narcissists and the overthinkers. Statistically, I'm a middle-aged, SWM, divorced with no offspring.

(I'm the mad Uncle seated at the kids' table on your wedding day.)

I'm very easygoing. However, because I'm retired, I don't keep traditional office hours and am not open 24/7, but usually can be reached most days, evenings and weekends, meaning, that is, on a rainy day, which is often daily on our mauka.

I want NO PORN, NO BITCOIN AND CRYPYOCURRENCY BROKERS OR TRADERS, and no POLITICS, PLEASE. Readers are welcome to comment and share ideas on a wide variety of topics from soup to nuts. Because I'm old-fashioned, were I still running my own brick and mortar business, my biggest sign would read NO SOLICITORS! No Romance scams, no sob stories, no investment fraud, no donations. NO SPAM. This blog is for thinkers, not gamesters, schisters or tricksters. If you can't create or think, don't drink.

My main objective is to provide a venue for artists to exchange ideas and network about our respective crafts. Because I possess a wide range of interests my blog will drift with the tide of my busy mind, which is easily occupied by subjects hot or cold, new or old; essays on art, artists, music, film criticism and works in progress, or verses salvaged from my former poertry profile since erased by IG.

My greatest achievement? BERLIOZ REQUIEM, OPUS 5

A Live performance at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in the early '90s. It was a disaster relief/memorial concert and fund raiser for California earthquake, drought and wildfire victims. Our performance was cast and performed according to the Composer's notes and stage directions and included almost 1000 performers. The night was a huge success, and we made the Late News.

Robert SCHUMANN. 1810-1856 Advice to Young Musicians

As you grow older, have more to do with scores, than virtuosi.

Seek among your comrades those who know more than you.

If everyone would play first fiddle, no orchestra could be got together. Let each musician keep his proper place.

Read poetry with diligence, as a relief from your musical studies. Take frequent exercise in the open air.

The laws of morality are also those of art.
